At its Annual General Meeting on September 23, 2026, Proximity Institute welcomed Cynthia (Cindy) Davis as Board Chair. Cindy is President and CEO of Lakeridge Health, has 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and has held progressive healthcare leadership roles in Ontario and Canada.  

“I am thrilled to be joining Proximity as Board Chair at a time when leadership is so vital for meeting the health system challenges ahead of us,” says Cindy.  

Cindy joins Proximity at an exciting strategic juncture for the organization with planning underway for the 2027–2032 strategy. 

“Cindy’s perspective as a healthcare executive, nurse, and champion of leadership development will provide immense value as we pursue our purpose through our next strategic plan,” says Susan Brown, President and CEO of Proximity. “We are fortunate to have her join us as Board Chair.”  

As an Ontario hospital CEO, Cindy’s experiences with Proximity have been both as a participant in programs that support her own development and as a contributor to programs that support the development of leaders with the motivation and potential to become hospital CEOs in the future.  

“I have a strong appreciation for this organization’s focus on developing leaders at the most senior level of Ontario hospitals,” says Cindy. “Proximity is well-positioned to advance leadership that not only strengthens hospitals but also helps to build systems that support healthy and vibrant communities.
