Leadership Journeys of Women Ontario Hospital Presidents and CEOs
Proximity is collaborating with Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario on research about the leadership journeys of women Presidents and CEOs in Ontario hospitals.
Over half of the 127 Presidents and CEOs within the Ontario hospital sector are women, many of whom were appointed in recent years. Understanding their career enablers and barriers will benefit both emerging leaders and the broader health care system in the spirit of achieving gender equity in leadership province-wide.
Interviews are currently underway with the majority of the 65 women hospital Presidents and CEOs. Results are anticipated by Spring 2024 and will be foundational to Proximity’s work influencing high potential talent identification and development.
